It serves as a comprehensive online library for marketing collaterals, video accessibility, and a repository for company information and tools. With Seismic, users can ensure they always have the latest version of product information like use cases, datasheets, pricing, and presentations at their fingertips. The platform has been instrumental in solving the issue of not having relevant sales content when needed by providing a centralized source for up-to-date documentation. Its tracking feature also provides valuable feedback on prospect engagement, helping users act promptly. The platform serves as a central collateral hub for sharing sensitive content like presentations, product documents, sales content, and training materials across various departments within an organization. It addresses version control issues and ensures consistency throughout the organization while providing customization options for dynamic distribution without compromising brand identity. With features like LiveInsights for data-driven decision-making and integration with Salesforce and email tools, Seismic streamlines content distribution to the sales organization and provides visibility into prospect engagement. Seismic has been instrumental to our company's Salesforce. These tools help solve the issue of not having relevant sales content when our executives need it most. With so many places that our teams use to store and share content, it has created a lot of confusion about where to find the single source of truth and most up to date content. Seismic solves this problem for us.
  • Search for content that is relevant to our different business units.
  • Push/blast notifications about our business to our global sales teams.
  • Customize content using the live-docs functionality.
  • I'd like the search functionality to include a semantic search. This is apparently on the roadmap.
  • Setting up the live docs is a little difficult at first. But it's easy once you get the hang of it.
  • Maintaining a clean doc center has been a struggle. We have a lot of content and need an easy way to maintain it.
We launch products constantly - Seismic is the single source of truth to where our salespeople can find the most up to date datasheets, product overviews, battle cards, etc. We have a lot of marketing people who also like the functionality of the tool - however, we have blocked them from using it so they don't cause clutter/confusion for our sales teams.

Seismic is the primary content management system Rackspace uses, and it has a big influence on sales enablement success. It is synced to multiple platforms including Kapost, Outlook, Salesforce, Slack, and Salesforce Communities. It is primarily used by sales employees, but the adoption is very high and there is a need to have more internal licenses allocated. Seismic is important to us because we are able to have consistent messaging, content, and a single source of truth.
  • Seismic is easy to use for both admins and end-users.
  • Seismic has an extremely helpful customer success team and tenure technical specialists.
  • Seismic is constantly innovating, and the new feature releases are great!
  • Seismic is my favorite tool I use for admin every day.
  • Seismic really needs to update the Profile Builder landing page feature. Nobody uses Microsoft Silverlight anymore and the out-of-the-box landing page builder is very hard to use. It does not allow for custom branding.
  • I wish Seismic allowed for a color categorization option in the search results page. End-users don't understand the file structure within profiles because they are concerned about the content itself.
  • The data and analytics dashboards lack a bit, but I hear that is changing.
I love Seismic. It is easy to use and fulfills almost all of my content management dreams.

We currently use Seismic as a content library, in addition to use all of its livedoc and automation properties to update materials on a quarterly basis. We use a wide variety of Seismic's functionalities to improve and optimize our quarterly update process. It has helped our team out a lot by replacing the master slide feature we previously hads in InDesign. I also really love that our end users have the ability to add minor customizations when they download pitchbooks; it has saved our marketing team a lot of time on top of our compliance team because fewer books need to be created and thus reviewed. The biggest issue I have right now with Seismic is the delay in generating pitch books and pushing updates on reference slides.
  • Automation
  • Shared slide model is a time saver
  • Customization for end users - specifically content selector (it's my favorite)
  • I wish Seismic had spell check on the website (content manager)
  • I wish we could push updates on reference slides
  • It can be very slow when generating a PDF
Seismic is great for large organizations that have a wide variety of materials. Also, the automation features are time saving.

Seismic is primarily being used by our sales, sales ops and client success teams. It enables them find related sales and marketing content quickly and easily and share that content with clients and prospects. Seismic also is integrated into the tools they use daily (Outlook and CRM) and when sales sends marketing assets through Seismic, marketing can see how engaging and relevant the content being shared really is.
  • LiveSend links are the biggest asset.
  • Analytics are huge to us being able to track what assets we should spend more time creating and which we should look to remove.
  • Dynamic folders help me to filter the content for my sellers.
  • Write back functionality for CRM so users can see what has been sent through Seismic tied to an opportunity
  • More ways to "favorite" an asset
  • More ways to filter or rank assets
Seismic is suited well for a company that has a CRM, Outlook and Marketo already. It would be less helpful for companies that don't have these tools that are able to integrate out of the box. Reason being, Seismic wouldn't be as accessible where sales works. Also due to how much the Seismic platform costs, it's less suitable for smaller companies with small budgets.

We use Seismic to manage our dynamic content - client-facing materials that dynamically pull info from Salesforce fields. Our Customer Success department uses content managed by an Enablement team. Enablement manages the content to drive consistency in our objective and our brand and ensure our teams are working toward the same goals.
  • Tech Support - Outstanding team. Friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to dig into the weeds. I was also never passed on, they'd send me directly to the correct person. This matters!
  • Our end users are able to preview the content as they customize through a form. Our product changes a lot, so it's critical that they know what they're selecting.
  • The level of customization is pretty great - Even if there is info that isn't pulling dynamically from Salesforce, I can build in fields where our reps can add info.
  • I work on a Mac and I have to keep a PC handy to make edits to the PowerPoint decks in Live Docs. That's pretty painful.
  • I would love to see them move toward supporting Google Slides instead of PowerPoint.
I feel fully supported by their team, but having to keep a PC to manage content on the backend is really a deal-breaker. I'd rather be able to work in GoogleSlides on a Mac than have to work in PowerPoint on a PC.

Seismic is being used by all of our internal sales personnel. Overall we have been very pleased with Seismic. The live send feature has been critical to our sales team. We really enjoy having one location to store all of our marketing material as well.
  • User-friendly.
  • Analytics are great.
  • The back end of Seismic is sometimes difficult to manage.
  • Stronger implementation strategy. Consider ways to help users who have never used this type of platform for sales efforts.
Seismic is always great for us when we are communicating with potential customers. It's awesome to see who is interacting with our material the most. We don't use it much with our current customers.

Seismic was originally purchased for our sales department's use. Marketing also uses it as content creators. We have since extended our user base to include our product managers, client success and professional services, and teams. The business problem it addresses is tied to saving our reps' time on admin tasks and giving them back more time to focus on sales activities. This is done by making our content easy to find, right where they're doing their job within Salesforce. The analytics we have on what's working allows us to know what content to produce and what can be archived, thus making the right content easier to find.
  • Searchability - The tagging is great and makes it easy to find what you need.
  • Salesforce integration - Our reps don't need to leave the opportunity they're working on! They can find the content they need right there and add it to their Workspace to start collaborating with the account team. The predictive content helps them get content needed based on the deal stage and industry of the account.
  • Analytics - We get great analytics on content engagement. Also rep engagement.
  • Profiles - We can have as many profiles as we need based on group. So if you want sales leaders to have access to certain content that others shouldn't you can have a profile for them. We also use this for channel partners.
  • G-Drive Integration - This is in the works but I think this could be better. We moved a lot of content over from GDrive and had to convert is all to Microsoft content so that the editor worked. It's very easy to sync your content over from G-Drive however. But you can't edit it.
  • The Profile Builder is a little tricky. You have to be in Internet Explorer to use it. Luckily it's not something I have to do often but when you want to make look and feel changes to your Doc Center it isn't the easiest tool to use.
This is well suited as a CMS and not an LMS. We still use an LMS for our rep learning and have a Seismic integration with it. Seismic is meant to be used to store content, send it to clients/prospects, get analytics and collaborate when building/editing decks. It's great for sales and marketing teams.

The Inspirage Marketing team implemented Seismic primarily to house our case studies. We were dealing with a large amount of single case study slides that had to be individually updated and maintained. When we stumbled across this platform, we were very excited. Being able to maintain a single data source for all of our case studies that were easy to update was a game-changer. We ended up creating a LiveDoc for our case studies so our sales team could easily pick and choose the customers they wanted to share. Since this LiveDoc went live, we have also created other LiveDocs in a similar format to automate our Pitch Deck and our library of in-house innovations. In addition to LiveDocs, Seismic as a whole has been instrumental in our team having a single source of truth for the most recent versions of all our marketing materials.
  • LiveDocs - Our team loves how Seismic provides a single source of truth for our marketing content that our sales team can easily manipulate to meet their needs.
  • Homepage - We love how we can "advertise" our latest and greatest content uploads and share industry knowledge by linking RSS feeds.
  • Workspace - Our team enjoys that they can upload decks created outside of Seismic and still enjoy the tracking capabilities of LiveSend.
  • We're sad that there isn't an Oracle Sales Cloud (our CRM) integration into Seismic although we've heard that it is in the works.
  • We use an SSO and some of the integrations with Microsoft Office don't work smoothly.
  • Get all your content organized before you start your implementation. Tagging, organizing and uploading all our content was the roughest part of our launch. It took forever!

Seismic has been a game-changer for us. I'd recommend it to any marketing team who is getting constant requests for the latest and greatest content. We love how easy Seismic is to use and update and how it's customizable for our sales team (LiveDocs). Having a single source of truth for all our marketing materials and being able to easily update our LiveDocs with one single data source is priceless.

Seismic is used across sales, marketing and customer success. It allows us to streamline the distribution of marketing and CS content directly to the sales organization, and also helps provide marketing with visibility into which content is best consumed by prospects.
  • Ease of use and shallow learning curve. As a front-end user, the technology is very intuitive and requires little training.
  • Being able to report not only which pieces of content are performing best, but which reps are engaging with the platform the most is critical for proving the ROI of the tool.
  • Reduces duplicative content through version control. Metrics are maintained when new versions of a content piece are published, which really helps simplify performance analysis.
  • Folder structure and organization is confusing at first and can be tedious when publishing content to different profiles.
  • Opportunity and revenue attribution within Salesforce is non-existent. Proving the value of content against revenue is a critical feature, and we are hoping this becomes available in the near future.
Seismic has been a game-changer for reducing the back-and-forth between sales and marketing on where and how to access certain pieces of content. Now, everyone knows to leverage Seismic as the first means of discovery which has alleviated many headaches and has also increased the number of content pieces delivered to prospects (by 90%). As our content consumption has increased, so have our view rates (by about 40%). We have also seen the time spent on the content jump from <1 minute to upward of 5+ minutes.

Seismic is used across the firm from our marketing team to the consultant relations, relationship management, and sales teams. The system allows us to easily create presentation books that are used for client reviews or for new prospects.
  • User-friendly interface that is easy to navigate
  • Creation of books can be easily customized by a click of a button
  • The system is fast and does not take a lot of time to produce the final product
  • It would be great to have the option to select a range of photos that can easily be swapped in and out of slides for further customization
  • At times there seem to be issues on the back end of the system where certain data does not pull in correctly
  • The ability to reorder slides directly in the system prior to producing the deck would be nice
Seismic is easy to use and anyone at any age or level can pick it up in minutes. The ability to rely on the system to get your work done, as opposed to needing to request another individual to complete the work, is great. The tool is simple and easy to use to create your own presentation all by yourself!

It is used by the marketing and sales departments only. It is meant to provide the sales team with easy access to marketing materials to send to prospects. We call it a sales enablement platform, but I feel like that's maybe a little too lofty/broad of a description.
  • Forces you to organize your collateral.
  • Integration capabilities with Salesforce are strong.
  • A terrible user experience for those managing content/assets. For example, you basically have to organize assets twice -- once on the back end for those managing assets, and again for those using them.
  • Exceptionally outdated user interface. I would like to see Seismic invest in better UX.
  • Implementation was not great. The people were responsive, but sometimes unclear, and never able to give us a good timeline or next steps.
If you want more than just a digital asset management system (like Dropbox or even webDAM or Bynder), but you're not ready for a top-of-the-line system that requires more investment, Seismic might be an okay solution. I'd recommend it for organizations with a less complicated set of assets -- e.g. only one product line.

Seismic is used across the organization, primarily by Sales, Marketing and Product, to ensure a single repository for customer facing selling guides, marketing material, product updates, training content, process reference guides and other valuable customer-facing and customer-supporting information. It is used as a mechanism to ensure accurate and timely content is shared across the organization and available through simple search and categorization capabilities.
  • Killer functionality to aid in quickly and easily searching and finding content
  • Ability to easily send content directly to customers and track their engagement
  • Ability to sync Seismic activity to Marketing Automation and Activity Management tools
  • The back end administration is a little cumbersome and confusing
The company did a great job of working with us to help tune the application to our needs. The application itself was a game-changer for the organization in terms of enabling everyone to access and utilize a common set of up-to-date content for outreach to customers and internal documentation. The ability to mark certain content as "Favorites", track usage of each piece of content and the interoffice commentary about each piece was all very valuable.

We use Seismic to house all our digital content, both internal and client facing. This may include marketing collateral, slide decks, battle cards, or general sales supporting material. It's used across our entire organization. It solves the problem of having multiple documents located on multiple shared repositories. Seismic organizing all our docs and indexes them for easy access.
  • Allows all documents and resources to be searchable
  • Allows the organization to control which versions of documents are released internally
  • Allow end users to view and interact with the documents prior to downloading locally
  • The UI/UX is not very intuitive and could use a usability update
  • It's often very slow in returning search results
  • Users sometimes have difficulty finding particular documents if they aren't tagged correctly
Seismic really is an enterprise level tool suited for larger companies who have difficulty managing their document resources.

Currenly Seismic is being used by our field sales team (AE, SE, SDRs) but we are considering it for intranet use, as other groups always want access to the curated content in Seismic.

It is our single source of truth for content. When I started there were silos of content, a lot of outdated content, same/different versions of files in different places, causing a loss of sales productivity and limiting their use of content throughout their sales process. Seismic has allowed us to consolidate the different Silos, point to other sources of content (our youtube videos for example) and allow the field to find relevant content easily, and increase the use of content (with tracking of usage by the field, and out to their customers).
  • Creating Dynamic Folders - Different users look for content in different ways, Seismic supports this with Dynamic folders. It's a filter you define to present a folder, for example, case studies and have it dynamically create folders by use case, product, industry, etc... This same case study could also live in other folders such as a product folder showing all of the content sorted by type without having duplicate files, as its all a virtual dynamic folder.
  • Search - VERY strong search to find content with filtering that allows the user to quickly get to the content they need by type, industry, product, use case, competitor, etc... full indexing, but a way to sort out all the results gives the field access to exactly what they want if they prefer to search.
  • Salesforce integration - providing content recommendations based on opportunities, so the field doesn't have to guess what they should be using. The system can recommend content based on defined fields such as sales stage, product, competitor, industry, and highlight content when they need it. Such as case studies in the same industry during early opp stages, a test plan during the pilot stage, or a contract at the negotiation stage. This allows them to get recommendations from us as they progress through the sales cycle
  • LiveSend and Analytics - The field can send content (or multiple pieces of content) and see if the customer opened it and for how long. Like their own personal Marketo. This is great when you meet with a group of customers and can see which of them opened and how long they read it, helping the rep see who their likely champion is. From a content management/marketing perspective we can also understand what is being used, in what deals, in wins or losses, how often its accessed, allowing us to create better content, and avoid creating things that are not used.
  • The front end and mobile app are very dynamic, however, the backend is in need of an update. They spent a lot of time making the front end work well in any browser and mobile, but the back end where the admins work leverages older technology. Better that they updated the front end for all the end users and they say they are in the process of updating it.
  • Flexibility on the landing pages - would be nice to have sub-landing pages. They support multiple profile pages (which is great - for different roles), but would be nice to have subpages support a tile layout like the homepage too.
Large growing sales team with lots of content and updates is well suited to Seismic.

if the sales team is smaller and content is limited it's probably overkill.

I like that it doesn't take a large team to implement vs. other solutions, so if you have limited staff, its good. If you have a large team for sale enablement/content marketing, then perhaps a solution with lots of customizations may be worth looking at, although Seismic is very flexible.

Seismic is used to automate the update of our quarterly presentations and factsheets. In that function, it is primarily used by the Marketing department. Sales department use the Sales Enablement functionality which allows them to build a custom presentation for use in the field on their own.
  • Automation of the updates to regular materials
  • Allow the flexibility to create custom presentations from pre-approved slides
  • User-friendly interface
  • Ability to post and manage text entries outside of Office documents
Appropriate for data update automation, content management and sales enablement. It is less appropriate for managing RFP answers.

There is a lot of marketing/sales content floating around the org internally. We needed a single place we could keep all of it. That was the idea behind using Seismic. So, instead of just asking your neighbor if they have the content you're looking for, or sending an email out to the org, we could just search within the Seismic platform and get what we needed.
  • The platform seems very stable. It's very easy to download and share content.
  • The search features within Seismic are absolutely terrible. We type in what we're looking for and the results are not relevant. My team can rarely if ever find the documents we're looking for. It makes Seismic completely useless and I have just reverted back to my old system of saving documents on my computer or within my email. My system is not a perfect system but it's much better than what Seismic has to offer. It is so bad that our Head of Operations announced last week they took off the majority of the content last week. The hope was that with less content it will be easier to find what's there. I still don't plan to use it because so far it has just been a waste of my time.
If they could improve their search features then I think it could be useful. We have an internal database that some of our engineers created and it is generally extremely easy to use. I can always find what I'm looking for on our internal database. I have literally never been able to find what I'm looking for on Seismic through the search features. The only time it's useful is if one of my team members sends me the exact link I'm looking for. I would never recommend Seismic to anyone. Waste of time and waste of money.

We use Seismic in the sales and marketing organization. It addresses our need to deliver on-brand, on-message content to our sellers. Our sellers can trust that if it exists in Seismic, it's been approved for usage by the marketing organization. It also creates a feedback loop for new content requests, negating the need for sellers to create their own content.
  • Seismic enables personalization of existing content, making it easy for sellers to provide and deliver the necessary context to buyers, without re-writing or re-developing assets.
  • Seismic informs marketing of which assets are being used and which ones are performing the best in terms of resonating with prospects. Marketing's Seismic dashboard (LiveInsights) is Product Marketing gold. You can clearly understand what resonates, and what doesn't.
  • Seismic is an awesome solution for sales enablement. When new sellers join, the ability to point them at an in-context repository of content helps to ramp productivity.
  • Seismic's reporting has improved significantly. LiveInsights were a tremendous development. I'd like the ability to share executive reporting from LiveInsights w/o creating a LiveDoc.
  • Seismic's NewsCenter is outstanding, it negates the need for sales newsletters and other forms of ad-hoc communication. I'd like to see NewsCenter enable users to share content directly from news articles.
Seismic is a phenomenal solution for digital content management, specific to enabling sales to be effective in getting the right content to the right person at the right time. That said, it will not, in itself align your sales and marketing organizations. Executive sponsorship at the highest levels is required to see efforts through. Regardless of how easy it is to use, sellers will push back if the organizational change management protocols are not put in place. This is also key for marketing leaders - you will need to make an investment in the training and administration side of Seismic to truly reap all of the benefits it provides. If your organization isn't willing to make those commitments, stick to SharePoint and DropBox, but know you're trading off the visibility you need to measure content effectiveness. It's worth the effort!
